Eating well-balanced meals is important at all times, but it is even more essential when you are pregnant. During this time you should be cautious about what food to eat during pregnancy and more cautious about what not to eat during pregnancy time. Raw Meat:

Research has proven that raw or uncooked meat must be avoided as they contain listeria bacteria. Uncooked seafood and rare or under-cooked beef or poultry should be avoided because of the risk of contamination with coliform bacteria, toxoplasmosis. Unpasteurized Milk:

Unpasteurized milk may contain listeria. Anything containing unpasteurized milk, however, is a no-no. These products could lead to food-borne illness. Hence boil the milk before drinking.

Salmonella Poisoning:

Raw eggs have been contaminated by harmful bacteria. Raw eggs or soft boiled eggs carry salmonella bacteria. Avoid eating raw or partially cooked eggs, such as eggnog, raw batter. Also, avoid the freshly made or homemade hollandaise sauce and Caesar salad dressing.

Alcohol Consumption:

There is NO amount of alcohol that is known to be safe during pregnancy. Hence alcohol should be avoided during pregnancy and even during breastfeeding.

Raw Seafood and Shellfish:

Raw shellfish pose a concern for everybody, and they should be avoided altogether during pregnancy. Avoid eating raw fish or raw meat during pregnancy. Examples include sushi, sashimi, and raw oysters, scallops or clams.

Fish with Mercury:

The larger and older the fish, the more mercury it is very likely to contain. Avoid fish with elevated levels of mercury. Your child’s developmental defects and brain injury have been connected with mercury ingestion while pregnant. Fishes with mercury include shark, swordfish, king mackerel, and tile-fish.

It is imperative to stick to a proper diet throughout your pregnancy interval and have healthful and wholesome food but most importantly enjoy your joyful Pregnancy!!
