When can I Go for Pregnancy Test? Some Early Signs to Look for

Different women have different signs of pregnancy. Some women may experience signs within a few days, while others have to wait till they miss the period. Some women don’t have any symptoms until a few months after conception. A pregnancy test is the easiest way to find out if you are becoming a mother.

What is the best time to take a pregnancy test?

The hCG hormone takes time to build up in the body. So, you have to wait till the period is missed before you take the test. The test may result in false-negative before this point.

Signs of Early Pregnancy

You could experience several symptoms of early pregnancy. Some women may never have any symptoms, while some have all of these signs. The symptoms also vary drastically throughout the whole pregnancy. So, there is no point in comparing your condition to someone else’s pregnancy. Here are some of the early symptoms –

  • Frequent urination – Before missing a period, you may have to go to the bathroom too frequently. It happens when your body is overflowed with blood. The blood supply rises during pregnancy in your body, and it removes all the toxins in the form of urine. You will need to urinate more often if your body has more blood.
  • Missed Period – It is the most evident and prevalent sign of pregnancy. Hormones are produced in conception that prevents ovulation and shedding of the uterine lining. It stops your period cycle, and you won’t have it until delivery. But there are other reasons for irregular periods, such as excessive exercise, stress, hormone imbalances, dieting, and other factors.
  • Fatigue – Early pregnancy also leads to tiredness in women. It happens mostly due to elevated levels of progesterone hormone. Fatigue can improve in the second trimester. In the third trimester, it can come back.
  • Morning sickness (may happen at any time) – Nausea can occur within two weeks of pregnancy or starts within few months of conception. You may have several levels of nausea, like without vomiting. Around 50% of women vomiting during pregnancy. It can also be trouble if you are dehydrated. If you have extreme dehydration and nausea, ask your gynecologist or check our pregnancy calendar.
  • Sore breasts – Tenderness or enlarging breasts are another sign of pregnancy. Your breasts may feel sore before the period. Your nipples may also enlarge and darken. This soreness fades if your body is used to elevated hormones.

Discuss your existing medical conditions, if any, with your doctor and overall health before pregnancy.
