Week 11 is the end of your first trimester. By the time you reach your eleventh week, pregnancy hormones can make you feel energetic, have a mild baby bump, and see stronger nails or hair. Although nausea usually subsides, other symptoms such as bloating, emotional highs and lows, and continued food cravings may persist in some pregnant women. Your uterus is growing in size and shortly your healthcare provider will start measuring fundal height to monitor your baby’s development. Drinking a lot of water, eating nutritious foods, and resting well will help make the pregnancy more comfortable.
Your baby at this age is like a lime, about 1.6 inches in length and 0.25 ounces in weight. Now your baby is developing his finer features, such as fingernails, tooth buds, and hair follicles. By this time, your baby’s liver, kidneys, and intestines are functioning effectively. Another amazing thing is that your baby is starting to move, although you won’t see it yet. The head now comprises a greater portion of your baby’s size but will soon become much closer to the rest of their body in terms of proportion. As the diaphragm forms, your baby may soon start having the first hiccups.
Regular visits to your healthcare provider ensure that your pregnancy is healthy. Stay active, take care of yourself, and get excited about the great achievements to come.
