Week Seventeen Pregnancy

Your Baby –

  • Is around 5” long 
  • Has started to develop adipose tissue or baby fat 
  • Working hard to turn its skeleton from soft to solid bone. 

You –

  • Feeling very pregnant but the baby bump is not as seen as you feel it is. People may not want to miss or comment on it well.  
  • At this point, usual weight gain can be from 5 to 13 pounds. 

It’s a great week with regular acrobatics and sensations on your uterus. On the other side, you are worried about regular heartbeat checks. This situation is both great and weird. Now the uterus stretches by around 2 inches under the belly button. You can’t expect the growth of the fetus without some effects. By week 17, you may have gained up to 10 pounds. As your baby gains weight and grows, so do you. 

Growth of your baby is really a beautiful thing. Your baby keeps growing faster than before by the 17th week. S/he may grow up to 6 inches tall and weigh around 7 ounces. Your fetus can now swallow, suck and blimp as all the reflexes are placed. Fat is stored in his/her skin. So, you should have a healthy diet.
